- Fisker held an unveiling in Los Angeles
- The Fisker Ocean will start at USD$29,999
- Will make its public debut at CES 2020
This weekend, on Sunday, January 5, Fisker unveiled, to a room filled with early reservation holders, its all-new Fisker Ocean. Even though it’s debuting at the CES 2020 in Las Vegas this week, the event happening in Los Angeles was live-streamed on YouTube for all the world to see. The worldwide live stream, where we can see the Ocean inside-out, can be viewed below.
Henrik Fisker, chairman and CEO of Fisker Inc., made quite an entrance as he took the stage from the trunk of the Ocean to showcase the cargo space behind the rear seats.
Pricing was also announced for the Fisker Ocean during the unveiling. According to Henrik Fisker, the direct-to-consumer approach and taking out every middleman that stands between the company and the customer will make Fisker be able to offer “quite an amazing price.”
In the U.S., the Fisker Ocean pricing will start at USD$37,499, or $29,999 with the $7,500 government tax credit factored in. The company will also offer flexible leases starting at $379/month. Depending on when you gave your reservation, Fisker will start delivering the Ocean at the end of 2021.
We also learned a few more new details about the upcoming all-electric SUV. In order to cut costs and offer the low price above, the Fisker Ocean’s hood is fixed with only a place to refill your windshield washer fluid made available at the base of the windshield.
Henrik Fisker also confirmed an upcoming extremely high-output version of the Ocean in the coming years. This version will be able, according to Fisker, to do the 0-60 mph dash in 2.8 seconds.
Another thing we learned is the availability, on the top-of-the-line model, of a full-length solar roof giving the consumer up to 1,000 free miles a year in good weather conditions, like in California.
That being said, the all-new Fisker also has something called the “California Mode” which roll downs all the windows, including the back glass as well as the small window between the C and D pillars.
The last (fun) feature Henrik Fisker showed was, with the help of the head-up display, the karaoke lyric system. He mentions you can see the lyrics of the song playing as you drive.
The all-new Fisker Ocean will make its public debut on January 7th at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
