Flagship Audi Q8 and SQ8 Receives Design and Technology Updates for 2024

Audi has unveiled a series of updates to its flagship Q8 and sportier SQ8 models for 2024. The revisions extend from dynamic exterior designs to advanced lighting technologies all the keeping the super-SUV’s powerful on-road presence and high-performance powertrains.

No changes were made in this department for 2024. Under the hood, the Q8 still houses a 3.0L turbocharged TFSI V6 engine that churns out 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The SQ8, on the other hand, is powered by a superb 4.0L twin-turbocharged TFSI V8, boasting an impressive 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. The SQ8 is especially exciting as it can cover the 0-100km/h sprint in scarcely more than 4.0 seconds.

On the surface, both the 2024 Audi Q8 and SQ8 SUVs boast a more assertive and elegant design. The front and rear fascias have been reimagined to feature new styling elements that elevate the SUVs’ commanding presence. The octagonal Singleframe grille, a signature Audi feature, now incorporates new elements that extend into L-shaped treatments, particularly on the SQ8 and Q8 models equipped with the S line style package.

The design updates also pay tribute to Audi’s heritage with cues from the original Audi Ur Quattro. The frameless doors and gently inclined D-pillars are supported by wide, pronounced wheel arches, encapsulating the vehicle’s quattro DNA. Audi has also introduced a new badging strategy, laser-etching the model, derivative, and technology identifiers into the B-pillar.

Audi has long been at the forefront of automotive lighting technology with novel configurations, and the 2024 Q8 and SQ8 are no exceptions. The Q8 comes standard with high-intensity Matrix-design LED headlights, which now feature digital daytime running lights on the upper horizontal edge, enhancing the vehicle’s visual width.

The SQ8 takes it a step further with digital OLED rear lights, a first for the model. These lights offer four selectable digital light signatures, adding a new layer of customization. Both models also feature dynamic turn signals and various coming home and leaving home lighting animations, making your arrival and departure a spectacle.

The interior of the 2024 Q8 and SQ8 models is as luxurious as ever, featuring new decorative inlays and seats with contrasting stitching. When it comes to equipment, Audi doesn’t skimp. The 2024 Q8 now includes features like Adaptive Cruise Assist with lane guidance and a new Audi app store accessible via Audi Connect. The SQ8 offers a Carbon twill matte inlay as standard, adding a touch of sportiness to the interior.

The 2024 Audi Q8 and SQ8 are set to hit U.S. showrooms in the first quarter of 2024. Canada should see the new Q8 arrive at the same time.
