The man was apprehended when he tried to sell the car to the same dealership three days later
He is now facing multiple charges
A man was arrested on multiple charges, including vehicle theft on Monday in Lake City, Florida after having returned to the scene of his crime.
The police department was dispatched to Lake City Chrysler Dodge Jeep after employees became suspicious of a man that came in to trade a used vehicle on a newer one.
A check of the car’s VIN proved it was the same vehicle that had been stolen from the dealership three days prior.
The man had apparently tried to make a quick buck by trading in the vehicle he had stolen days before, unfortunately he choose to do so at the same place he had committed the crime.
The make and model of said vehicle hasn’t been disclosed.
After having been confronted by the police, the man now identified as Timothy Wolfe, of Lake City confessed to the crime, which could be seen on the dealer’s video surveillance system.
The man didn’t resist to his arrest and he was taken to the Columbia County Detention Center.
He has been charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, dealing in stolen property, criminal mischief and petit theft.
