Ford Teases New Fathom Electric Pickup in Full Camo on The Vegas Strip

  • Ford Fathom production is scheduled to begin in Kentucky during the first quarter of 2027.

  • U.S. pricing starts at US$28,350 before delivery, which could translate into CDN$40,000.

  • Fathom will offer NACS charging, BlueCruise, bidirectional charging and integrated Apple Maps navigation.

Ford has shared a closer look at its upcoming Fathom electric pickup coasting along the Las Vegas Strip in full camouflage.

The small-midsize EV is scheduled to enter production at Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky during the first quarter of 2027. Ford confirmed the Fathom name last August and has positioned the truck as its affordable entry in the North American EV market.

In the United States, the standard-range Fathom will start at US$28,350 before a US$1,595 delivery charge. That puts the initial price at US$29,945 including delivery. Canadian pricing and availability have not been announced; however, a pre-fee base price of CDN$40,000 is to be expected, up to roughly CDN$42,500 with fees.

This preview comes as Ford CEO Jim Farley shared footage of a camo’d Fathom cruising the heat-hot Vegas Strip in Nevada. Farley said the engineering team was testing the vehicle in desert conditions before taking it through Las Vegas.

Ford has not released the pickup’s complete specifications, but it has outlined several interior, storage and technology features. The Fathom will offer more passenger space than a Toyota RAV4, while also providing a pickup bed and front storage compartment.

Cabin equipment is expected to include a large touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a digital key. Ford also plans to equip the Fathom with its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system and bidirectional charging capability.

Navigation will be another point of differentiation. The Fathom will be its first vehicle with Apple Maps integrated directly into the vehicle’s navigation environment, including turn-by-turn guidance and EV routing functions.

Charging hardware will include a native North American Charging Standard port. Development vehicles have previously been seen using Tesla Supercharger locations, consistent with Ford’s adoption of NACS hardware for newer electric vehicles.

Ford has not confirmed the Fathom’s official range, battery capacity, power output, payload or towing ratings. A 300-mile (480+km) range figure has been discussed externally.
