In both Canada and the United States, the Bronco Sport is offered in base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Badlands, each adding incremental levels of features. A limited-run First Edition variant was also available in the U.S., building on the Badlands with unique trim details, but it quickly sold out.

There are two available powertrains. The base one is a turbocharged 1.5L three-cylinder engine that develops 181 horsepower, while a turbo 2.0L inline-four with 250 horsepower is found in the top-shelf variants. A 4×4 system is standard across the board, along with the G.O.A.T. Modes drive system (which stands for Goes Over Any Terrain) with Sand, Slippery, Sport, Eco and Normal settings. The Badlands and First Edition also get Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl modes, a differential lock feature, a transmission oil cooler and an off-road suspension providing extra ground clearance.

Available appearance, comfort and convenience features include 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, LED headlights and taillights, a windshield wiper de-icer, a power sunroof, remote engine start, power-adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, heated front seats, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, FordPass Connect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot (data package required), wireless phone charging, embedded navigation, a 10-speaker B&O sound system as well as a SYNC 3 infotainment system with eight-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration.

On the safety front, hill start assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist and automatic high beams all come standard. Also available on most trim levels adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, rear park sonar and a 180-degree front view camera system.
