The automaker signed a deal to have its EVs appear in movies and shows “Where relevant”.
Productions in which GM vehicles will feature include “Queer Eye”, “Love is Blind”, and “Unstable”.
Other EVs will also be featured in Netflix shows.
General Motors signed an agreement with Netflix to have its electric vehicles feature in movies and shows produced by Netflix.
Collaborations between automakers and movie studios have been popular for many decades now, and it seems the shift toward electrification could give this popularity a boost.
According to GM, its vehicles will show up on screen “where relevant” for product placement.
This means that the GMC Hummer EV, the Chevrolet Bolt EV, and the Cadillac Lyriq, among others, will feature in productions such as “Love Is Blind”, “Unstable”, and “Queer Eye”.
Details of the agreement have not been disclosed, but Netflix has pledged to help creators understand how electric vehicles can be integrated into their scenarios in the best way possible.
The collaboration with GM will kick off with a commercial starring Will Ferrel that will air during the Superbowl on February 12.
Since this is not an exclusivity agreement, EVs from other manufacturers will also be seen in upcoming Netflix movies and TV Series.
Both companies said this agreement was part of a commitment to a more sustainable future.
