Genesis Confirms GV60 Magma, Makes Rolling Debut At Goodwood

Burning my feet just driving around

  • GV60 Magma confirmed for 2025 production

  • Magma models will get sharper handling

Genesis is building that piping-hot Magma. The Genesis GV60 Magma concept has been confirmed for production starting late next year, and the concept car is taking to the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The luxury automaker is taking its first stab at a real high-performance sub-brand and has racing legend Jacky Ickx along for the ride. The multiple-time F1 and 24 Hours of Le Mans race winner will drive the GV60 Magma up the hill, along with a handful of other Genesis high-performance models.

Genesis revealed the GV60 Magma concept in March at its flagship Genesis House experience center in New York. It has a more powerful motor with more attention focused on cooling and power output during extended periods of fast driving. Sales will start in Korea in Q3 of 2025, and we expect it here not long after.

As the first Magma, it shows off some features that will be common across the new line. These include a wider and lower body, as well as new chassis and suspension parts meant to boost performance and make each one a more focused driver’s car.

Magma will get a new audio syustem as well, meant for the drive experience, not for playing your tunes. Genesis is also going to give the models their own graphic interface to set them apart from other models.

Other Genesis models at Goodwood will include the G80 EV Magma concept, the G70 Track Taxi Nordshleife, and the GV80 Coupe Concept. All of the models will be running the hill.
