Genesis Could add a Bespoke Vehicle Program

Genesis wants to fully establish itself as a luxury car maker by creating a bespoke customization program.

  • This will make it possible for buyers to personalize their vehicles completely

  • A similar program is already available in Korea for the GV80, which can be ordered with any combination of colours and options

  • Bulletproof cars for ceremonies are also in the plans

Genesis is still trying to increase its standing in the luxury car world and the next step in its plans is to introduce a new division, called One of One, which will allow buyers to personalize their vehicle to a very high level, similar to what ultra-luxury brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce are doing.

This new division will begin by creating special editions of the brand’s current models and will then expand to allow customers to choose their own paint colours, options, and interior materials.

A similar program is already in use in South Korea, Genesis’ native land, for the GV80. Buyers of the brand’s largest and most luxurious SUV are able to pick and choose any paint and interior combination they want, without the restrictions usually imposed by the automaker. Buyers can also choose any option they want without having to lump them into a package containing other features they don’t want. This means that the GV80 can be had in over 100,000 different combinations.

This program is said to be available soon in other markets, including the United States and China.

Since luxury vehicles are often used to drive around celebrities and heads of state, Genesis is reportedly working on factory-made bulletproof versions of some of its vehicles, which would make them better suited for such circumstances than an existing vehicle that was modified by an external company.

The One of One division is expected to be created and introduced to major automotive markets around the world by the end of the year.
