Genesis G70 Track Day Special Concept: First Stop in Quebec

On May 1st, Genesis unveiled the G70 Track Day Special concept. Now touring across Canada, it has made its first stop in Quebec.

  • The Genesis G70 Track Day Special concept is inspired by the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife.

  • It stands out with a number of aerodynamic enhancements.

  • The car rides on 19-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

We were invited to visit Genesis Saint-Laurent, one of just two Genesis distributors on the Island of Montreal, to get a closer look at the G70 Track Day Special concept. Before arriving in Quebec, the vehicle made appearances in Markham and York, ON. British Columbia is expected to be one of its next destinations.

Inspired by the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife

If you happen to vacation in Germany, not only can you visit the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, but you can also experience it firsthand. As a passenger in the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife, you can take a thrilling lap at full speed. The G70 Track Day Special concept pays tribute to this high-performance machine, which delivers white-knuckle rides to visitors day in and day out.

This concept shares the same suspension tuning, wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 19-inch tires as the vehicle that takes tourists around the Nürburgring at high speed.

A Luxury Sedan with Track-Ready Looks

Compared to the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife, the G70 concept features additional visual details, including hood vents and tow straps, at both the front and rear. It also adorns decorative “Nordschleife” lettering on the front and rear fenders, and a large rear wing that makes it instantly recognizable.

Finished in black with orange accents, the colour scheme nods to the original Track Taxi.

Genesis X Gran Equator Concept Introduced as Brand’s First Overlanding Design Study

We applaud Genesis for taking bold steps to carve out a unique identity in the luxury car segment by showcasing a more performance-oriented approach. Whether it’s enough to boost the brand remains to be seen, but this seems like a step in the right direction for a young automaker in search of extra momentum.
