Genesis is headed for full-blown success if they keep this up.
There are far more new models headed our way including the GV70 SUV.
Less than a week ago, we reported on news of the luxury brand’s expansion was to include an all-electric GV60 SUV. The story was sourced from Automotive News however, Genesis North America reached out to us to say that there were a few inaccuracies within the shared information.
Unfortunately, they were not at liberty to specify which detail or details were off. From what we gather, a full-EV (or more) is on the way which leads us to think that it won’t be a GV60, at least not at first. We also reported in late January that Genesis had trademarked a number of model names with an “e” at the end. This normally would signify electrification of some sort, be it a PHEV or a BEV.
From the brief conversation we had with Jarred Pellat, Public Relations – Genesis Motor North America, he confirms that there’s lots more coming from Genesis in the future and that if we think what they’ve introduced so far is good, we ain’t seen nothing yet. We have to believe him.
Genesis Has Trademarked G70e, GV80e, And Others. Are They Going Full-Electric?
Following the publication of the story on the GV60, Mark Del Rosso, President & CEO, Genesis Motor North America, had this so to say:
“Recently, there have been several media reports about the launch of all-new Genesis products. Though I cannot confirm any product speculation at this time, I am humbled by the public’s enthusiasm for the Genesis brand. In 2021, we will launch our second SUV: the sporty and dynamic GV70. Additionally, we will reveal the first of many fully-electric models, including an all-new addition to our lineup. I look forward to sharing more details with you soon.” –
Please let it be the Essentia (since most of the news has been about the variants of the Ioniq 5).
