Cue the lineup of Camaro owners looking to dominate all street races.
The engine itself is a 670-horsepower naturally-aspirated 5.5-litre V8.
GM will focus on cars first, however.
The Chevrolet Corvette is the undisputed automotive hero from the last years. More has been written and said globally about this car than any other. And GM’s not done yet, far from in fact. The latest addition is the supercar-killing Z06 and there are more to come.
2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Officially Unveiled With 670 Horsepower
The heart of the new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is the subject of this story as it is rumoured that GM and Chevy may opt to sell its flat-plane crank, dual overhead cam, 5.5-litre naturally aspirated LT6 V8 engine in a crate. With 670 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, it had the chops to make any car it ends up in a supercar. We can easily imagine any generation Camaro or Firebird scorching almost anything on the road.
Though, if it happens, it won’t be soon, as reported by GM Authority: “Our customers are the most important, building the cars that the customers ordered is the most important. The great news is that we’ve been selling tons and tons of cars because people want our product. So the surplus part is not like with the LT5, we just consciously buy more when they’re doing their build out. We buy them to make sure that we can provide them.”
Production of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be next summer.
