This model comes with off-road and luxury features such as different dampers and massaging front seats.
The Extreme AEV Edition adds more rugged equipment from AEV, such as steel bumpers.
Deliveries should begin in the fall of this year.
After Chevrolet unveiled the 2024 Silverado HD ZR2 a few weeks ago, it is now GMC’s turn to launch a top-of-the-line off-road version of its heavy-duty truck.
According to the automaker, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X is the most capable HD truck ever offered in its lineup due to a number of exclusive features and equipment that are not available in other Sierra models.
For example, the AT4X trim level adds a 1.5-inch suspension lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers, an electronically locking rear differential, 35-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and other specific suspension components.

In addition, a new off-road drive mode increases capabilities by changing the settings of various systems, namely the ABS brakes, the traction control, the transmission’s shift points, and the accelerator tuning.
Powering the Sierra HD AT4X is a choice of two 6,6L V8 engines. Standard is a gasoline unit that delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque while a Duramax Diesel version is available with an output of 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines are paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission and choosing the diesel engine makes it possible to tow trailers weighing up to 18,500 pounds.

Speaking of towing, drivers will benefit from technologies such as the Transparent Trailer camera system, blind spot monitoring with trailer detection, and adaptive cruise control with trailering capability.
Like other AT4X models in the GMC truck range, this version is a more rugged equivalent to the luxurious Denali, which is why the interior also benefits from upgrades over the other models.
For example, the 2024 Sierra HD AT4X comes with massaging front seats upholstered in exclusive Obsidian Rush full-grain leather, Vanta Ash wood accents, a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, and a new 13,4-inch infotainment screen. In addition, the driver faces a 12,3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch head-up display.

For drivers who want an even more rugged truck, GMC will also offer the Extreme AEV Edition on the new Sierra HD. This model will receive a number of parts and components manufactured by off-road specialists American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). These include stamped steel front and rear bumpers with integrated tow hooks and provisions for mounting a winch. Exclusive wheels, additional underbody protection plates, and unique badging inside and out are also included.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin during the fall of 2023, when the first 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X models will reach dealerships across North America.
