Hummer EV and SUV reservations still full
3X offers more range and on-road tires
GMC has just announced details for two more of the trim grades for its Hummer EV and Hummer EV SUV. That’s the 3X trim, which joins the Edition 1 fully-loaded model that launched both versions of the vehicle.
Like the Edition 1, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup will have 1,000 hp. That’s thanks to the one front and two rear motors that make up the 3X part of the name.
22-inch wheels wearing 35-inch all-terrain tires will come standard on the 3X, which GMC says makes it more on-road oriented in its driving experience. The all-terrain tires boost range, too, with a max range of up to 355 miles, 36 miles more than the Edition 1.
The 3X will also be able to tow 1,000 pounds more, with a towing max of 8,500 lbs.
4 Wheel Steer, CrabWalk, and the Watts to Freedom features will all be standard on the 3X truck.
For 3X buyers who still want off-road, GMC is offering an Extreme Off-Road package. It includes underbody cameras, assist steps, rocker protection, and 18-inch wheels wearing mud-terrain tires. This one has 329 miles of range just like the Edition 1.
On the SUV side, the changes are mostly the same, but GMC will make the 2024 Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 and 3X both available in pavement and off-road versions.
All of them make 830 hp and can tow 7,500 lbs. The Extreme Off-Road variants offer 298 miles of range, the 22-inch wheel versions 314. That off-road package will come with the same goodies as it does on the pickup.
Though there are new trims, you still can’t order them. The reservation books are full for both Hummer EVs, but GMC lets you stay in-touch on its site.
