This is the 1,000+ horsepower EV truck everyone will be talking about.
It will features “crab mode”.
It’s been more than a year already since we first broke the news that the Hummer brand was making a comeback. In June of 2019, rumours of Hummer’s rebirth were circulating but unlike its roots as a maker of monster petrol-guzzling, the new GMC HUMMER was going to be dedicated to electric vehicles.
Since then, we’ve learned that the Hummer was going to be sold under the GMC banner, a wise move as GMC is and has always been about trucks and SUVs. We got a glimpse of the Hummer’s grille when GM aired the GMC HUMMER EV and LeBron James Super Bowl LIV ad. It was at this time that GMC informed us all of the EV’s 1,000-horsepower potential and 3-second 0-60 mph sprint capabilities.
Finally, we’ll get to see the actual truck on Tuesday, October 20th. We’re guessing GMC will share much more about the Hummer’s Crab Mode, showcased in the brief video. And in the short clip, we can plainly see the familiar-looking Hummer wheels and front skid plate.
Reservations will become possible on gmc.com on the same day. GM promises that more details will be revealed over the next month – we wouldn’t have it any other way.
