Goodyear Launches Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 Tire in North American Market

Goodyear has introduced its latest ultra-high-performance summer tire, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, across Canada and the United States. Recognized as the 2025 Test Winner by AutoBild Magazine, the tire is designed for drivers of high-end sedans, sports cars, SUVs, and electric vehicles.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is engineered to deliver traction and control in both dry and wet conditions. Its adaptive tread compound helps maximize rubber-to-road contact by remaining pliable in varying temperatures, enhancing grip and braking performance. The tread design also adjusts dynamically during cornering, acceleration and deceleration, aiding in overall stability.

An asymmetric tread pattern supports high-speed responsiveness and lateral traction. The tire’s rigid outer shoulder aids dry grip during cornering, while the inner section evacuates water to reduce hydroplaning risk. A continuous centre rib enhances straight-line stability.

Goodyear’s SoundComfort technology is available in select sizes. The system uses a polyurethane foam layer bonded to the inner surface of the tire to absorb vibrations and reduce interior noise levels by up to 50 %, depending on the vehicle. Also available in certain fitments is SealTech, a puncture-sealing technology that automatically closes tread-area punctures up to 5 millimetres in diameter, minimizing the need for immediate roadside service.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has been designed with electric and hybrid vehicles in mind. It offers high load-carrying capacity and low rolling resistance to support EV range and efficiency. The tread structure and sidewall reinforcement help manage the instant torque delivery characteristic of electric drivetrains.

More than 100 sizes are available for the North American market, ranging from 17 to 23 inches in diameter. Approximately 90 % of these sizes are 18 inches or larger, reflecting growing demand for large-diameter wheels in the SUV and performance segments. Compatible fitments include the BMW M3, M4, X3, X5 and X6; Audi A4, S4, A5, S5; Mercedes-Benz C-Class; Porsche Macan and Cayenne; and Tesla Model S.
