Tires are quieter, reinforced, and with stiffer sidewalls.
The Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev was specially developed for the needs of electric vehicles
They are 30% more durable than a standard tire.
If you’re heavily into EVs, you probably know that the downside to all that instant torque is heavy tire wear. Hankook has engineered a new Ventus S1 evo 3 ev specifically for EVs and they will be available as original equipment on the Porsche Taycan.
The requirements for these tires are numerous. They must meet performance, handling, durability, and quietness. This tall order was met head-on by Hankook engineers who have discovered an optimally balanced vulcanization process. The resulting Ventus S1 evo 3 ev has a tread pattern that has been designed to reduce road noise by up to three decibels. The bead and lateral stiffness are reinforced for optimal handling. The tires are 30% more durability and despite all of this, rolling resistance has dropped by 13% overall.
The Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev will be part of the Porsche Taycan’s original equipment, sized 225/55R19 XL 103Y in the front and 275/45R19 XL 108Y in the rear.
“We are proud to equip the first fully electric sports car from Porsche with our tires. Providing the original equipment for sporty premium vehicles is already a tradition at Hankook. Our engineers have shown that with our products we are well prepared for the new demands in the field of electric sports cars and are therefore well-positioned for the future,” says Hyunjun Cho, Head of Hankook OE Division.
