After spies caught the new car during a photoshoot last week, Mini has decided to release the first official images of the 2025 Mini Cooper EV.
These images show a bright blue three-door Cooper EV that has a white roof and white mirror caps posing in a parking lot somewhere in California.
Of course, since Mini has a strong heritage, the design of the new car can’t be too different from the previous generation or the original Mini from the 60s, and indeed the general appearance of the 2025 model is not revolutionary.
This is to say that the 2025 Cooper EV is still easily recognizable as a Mini despite its changes, which are still fairly extensive.
Up front, the oval grille has been enlarged, and its outline has been made more angular. On this particular electric model, the grille is mostly filled-in with body-colour plastic and the outline is highlighted in silver.
The distinctive round headlamps are also larger than before and now incorporate horizontal elements around a central LED projector.
From the side, the new Mini appears to have a higher beltline and shorter windows than the previous version and the door handles have been changed from the previous pull-type to a flush-mounted design that has already been seen on a few new BMW models.
The most noticeable departure from the traditional Mini style is at the rear, where the taillamps are now triangular units instead of the squared-off egg-shaped style that had been in use previously.
Like the current model, however, these new LED headlamps continue to feature a design inspired by the Union Jack, made up of multiple rectangular LED pixels.
Mini has yet to publish images of the interior of the new model, but we already know the dashboard will feature a large round screen in the center, which could possibly be the only screen inside.
This screen will also include a new digital assistant which will take the form of a cartoonish bulldog named Spike.
In terms of specifications, the new electric Mini is likely to feature two powertrains and two battery sizes, but the automaker has yet to confirm anything on that front.
