Hertz Offers Camaro SS and ZL1 Prepared By Hendrick Motorsport

Hertz does it again, this time with the help of Hendrick Motorsport and a pair of Chevy Camaros.

Normally, rental cars are not the most exciting ones to drive. Pony Cars such as Mustang and Camaro are often powered by anemic V6s, while more luxurious cars are normally very poorly equipped.

But at Hertz, they try to see things differently. For many moons, Hertz has been introducing high-performance vehicles into its fleet in order to attract the attention of travelers, but also to partner with motorsport giants. Just think of the Mustang Shelby GTH, for example, who comes back to the fleet from time to time since the 1960s.

Today, we learn that the company who specializes in renting cars does it again, this time with Hendrick Motorsport, the famous NASCAR cars builder.

Starting next month, it will be possible to rent a 480 horsepower Camaro SS, or a 750 horsepower Camaro ZL1, both with the Hertz-Hendrick emblem and the yellow bands as all the models that the company invites on its fleet.

You have probably noticed that the outputs are higher compared to the factory ones. Indeed, Hendrick Motorsport has spiced up the specimens for Hertz by adding a Callaway volumetric compressor that adds 100 horsepower in the ZL1, and an exhaust system combined with a high-performance air intake for the Camaro SS, giving it 25 additional horses.

Only 200 copies of the SS variant and 24 copies of the ZL1 will be produced and distributed in a series of selected airports in the United States.
