Honda Adds More Standard Tech to the 2026 Accord, Raises Base Selling Price to $41,797

Honda has enhanced the standard equipment list of the 2026 Accord.

  • All 2026 Honda Accord models now come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless phone charger.

  • The Sport-L trim level gets black badges and the base SE adds 19-inch alloy wheels and a 9-inch screen.

  • Pricing increases by up to $1,692 compared to the 2025 model.

The 2026 Honda Accord will arrive in the brand’s Canadian showrooms later this month with a few small updates.

The newest iteration of the mid-size sedan benefits from more standard tech features, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which were previously optional.

The same can be said of the wireless charging pad, making it possible to forgo cables entirely in all new Accord models this year.

Accompanying these new features is a larger 9-inch standard touchscreen for the SE trim level, replacing the old 7-inch unit. Sport-L and Touring models keep their 12.3-inch display.

Other additions include black badging for the hybrid Sport-L, which already featured black side mirrors and a black antenna, as well as new 19-inch alloy wheels for the gas-powered SE. The 2025 base model had 17-inch wheels.

Mechanically, nothing has changed, which means the 2026 Honda Accord SE is powered by a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder engine that generates 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque.

This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission that simulates shift points and front wheel drive.

With this powertrain, the Accord SE’s fuel economy is rated at 7.5 L/100 km in combined driving.

The other two trim levels come exclusively with Honda’s hybrid powertrain, which features a 2.0L four-cylinder engine and two electric motors that pair to deliver 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels via an eCVT transmission.

Fuel economy of the hybrid Accord is rated at 5.3 L/100 km in combined driving.

Unsurprisingly, since it is included with two of the three trim levels on offer, this electrified powertrain is proving quite popular. In fact, Honda Canada claims that 75% of all Accord models sold in the country last year were powered by the hybrid system.

Pricing for the 2026 Honda Accord in Canada will be slightly higher than before, with selling prices climbing $1,517 for the SE and $1,692 for the Sport-L and Touring.

This means a new starting price of $41,797 for the SE, $46,697 for the Sport-L, and $49,197 for the Touring.

Interestingly, most of the increase comes from additional fees as the MSRP stayed almost the same, at $38,500 for the SE, $43,700 for the Sport-L, and $46,200 for the Touring. This is an increase of $200 for the SE and $700 for both hybrid models.

Sales of the 2026 Accord should begin within the month of January.
