Honda Canada is broadening the appeal of its best-selling SUV, the CR-V, with the introduction of a second hybrid-electric variant to the lineup. The 2024 Honda CR-V EX-L Hybrid is set to commence deliveries this month, fortifying the brand’s electrification evolution, with hybrid models anticipated to represent 50% of CR-V sales eventually.

The new hybrid-electric model, EX-L Hybrid, priced at $46,275, enters the lineup between the turbocharged CR-V EX-L and the top-tier Touring hybrid. The EX-L Hybrid introduces unique features that boost style and comfort, such as Gloss Black 18” Aluminum-alloy wheels, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, heated front and rear seats, and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel.

Notably, the 2024 Honda CR-V EX-L Hybrid, like its predecessor, the CR-V Touring Hybrid introduced in the 2023 model year, will be proudly manufactured in Canada at the Honda of Canada facility in Alliston, Ontario. The commencement of this production underscores Honda’s commitment to local manufacturing.

Honda’s hybrid-electric models, the EX-L and Touring, form the premium offering in the SUV’s lineup, which also includes three turbocharged trims – the LX, Sport and EX-L. The entry-level model for the 2024 Honda CR-V, the LX-B 2WD, starts at an MSRP of $35,125.

The new CR-V EX-L Hybrid is not just about economy and efficiency, but also about advanced features and technology. It comes well-equipped with a power passenger seat, front and rear parking sensors, a power tailgate, and a 9-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a Qi-compatible 15W wireless smartphone charging, an 8-speaker audio system, and Low Speed Braking Control as standard.

Further accentuating its exterior design, the CR-V EX-L Hybrid boasts bold black accents, rectangular exhaust finishers, and Berlina Black 18-inch wheels. The model features Honda’s award-winning Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control for enhanced traction management across diverse driving conditions.

Under the hood, the hybrid models boast Honda’s advanced 4th-generation two-motor hybrid system, combining for an output of 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. This further supports Honda’s electrification strategy by providing a fuel-efficient, yet sporty and capable driving experience.
