- Yes, it’s been 20 years since Honda introduced the fan-favorite S2000 roadster.
- No, this is not a Concept that promises the return of the legendary drop-top.
- All these accessories will be revealed at next month’s 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon.
There’s something mesmerizing about the Honda S2000. I’ve have the privilege of driving the car when new on four or five occasions as we as drive a friend’s pristine example not that long ago. The Honda S2000 bridges the gap between regular and exotic in a way that everyone can appreciate.
This list of accessories includes revised front bumper with what looks like a gaping lower-grille, an updated suspension and an improved audio system. Although it’s not wholly uncommon that a carmaker celebrates a given car’s “birthday,” usually the celebrated car is still in production. Quite honestly, we don’t recall any auto-manufacturer releasing new OEM parts for car that’s been out of production for a decade.
This leads us to want to believe that Honda is being sneaky right in our faces. Rumours of the return of the S2000 roadster have been on and off over the last few years and as a teaser, to see if there’s still interest in the car, Honda’s launching parts for the old one. Does this not make sense?
Now, even if the next S2000 happens to be all-electric, it does not matter! Honda, if you’re reading this, bring it back. The love the Honda Urban EV concept is only a small example that shows that Honda fans are ready, with their wallets, for retro-cool Honda cars!
