Honda Pilots Updated for 2026 with Tech Upgrades and Sharper Looks

Three-Row Honda Pilot SUV Gets Standard 12.3-inch Touchscreen, Quieter Cabin, and Sharper On-Road Manners for 2026 Model Year.

  • Standard 12.3-inch HD centre screen and 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster significantly boost cabin tech.

  • Re-tuned steering system and new acoustic materials deliver a quieter, more precise driving experience.

  • TrailSport trim now includes standard heated rear seats; all trims get standard power tailgate.

Honda is rolling out a significant refresh for its three-row midsize SUV, the 2026 Pilot, with a focus on a substantially upgraded interior technology suite, bolder styling, and a more refined driving experience. The refreshed Pilot will begin arriving at U.S. dealerships next month, and will continue to be built in Lincoln, Alabama.

The 2026 Pilot retains its 3.5-litre DOHC V6 engine, producing 285 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The advanced torque-vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system remains available on all grades and is standard on upper trims (standard across all models in Canada). The new model will be available in six trims in the U.S.: Sport, EX-L, Touring, TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition.

The most notable change for the 2026 Pilot is the overhaul of its standard technology features. All trims now receive a new, ultra-wide 12.3-inch HD colour touchscreen, a huge increase over the previously standard 7-inch display and a 37% increase in size over the previously available 9-inch touchscreen. This is paired with a larger 10.2-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, up from the old 7-inch IP.

In-car connectivity also sees a major lift, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility now standard across the lineup

Beyond technology, Honda is enhancing the Pilot’s day-to-day drivability and premium feel.

  • Improved Driving Dynamics: Engineers have re-tuned the electric power steering (EPS) system across all trims, promising increased steering feel and precision.
  • Quieter Cabin: New sound-absorbing technologies, including semi-tempered door glass, door insulators, and an upgraded hood insulator, are expected to reduce cabin noise.
  • Safety Boost: A Post-Collision Braking system (PCB) is now standard on every Pilot to mitigate damage and injuries in multi-crash incidents, complementing the existing standard Honda Sensing suite.

The Pilot’s rugged exterior gets a visual refresh, starting with a redesigned front fascia that features a larger grille and more pronounced front and rear scuff plates. All models now feature a power tailgate and roof rails.

Specific trim-level enhancements include:

  • TrailSport: The off-road focused trim gains standard heated rear outboard seats and an available brown leather interior with contrasting orange stitching, underscoring its dual role as an adventurer and a family vehicle.
  • Touring: Adds the 360-degree surround view camera system (previously TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition only) and a new design for its 20-inch alloy wheels.
  • Elite and Black Edition: Step up the luxury with new diamond quilted Ultra-Suede seat accents.

We expect Canadian specifications to be released soon.
