How To Pair Your Smartphone With FCA’s Uconnect

0

FCA’s Uconnect is one of the best, most user-friendly connected system currently available on the market. Here’s a quick step-by-step tutorial to connect your smartphone.

Uconnect came to prominence in all of FCA’s vehicles, be they Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep or RAM, about four years ago and has since become one of the most awarded systems of its kind.

We love it for its large screen, good graphics, plentiful menus and most of all, ease-of-use. The following is a step-by-step tutorial to connect your smartphone and a brief accompanying video.

What is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and why are they useful

Step One –  Pairing UConnect

Select the Phone icon in order to activate the function. You will be asked to pair a phone to which you will answer “yes”. A Uconnect PIN number will appear on screen.

Step 2

Now, turn on or make sure your phone’s Bluetooth function is on. Within moments, the vehicle’s Uconnect signal will be picked up by the phone.

Step 3

Once you select the Uconnect signal, a PIN number will be displayed on your phone and if the system recognizes your phone, it will present an identical PIN.

Step 4

All you need to do here is select “pair” and/or “yes” on the two screens (phone and Uconnect) and you’ll be all set.

Step 5

A few options will present themselves to you such as synchronizing favorites (phone numbers). It’s up to you to decide how you want to proceed.

And that’s all the time required to complete this task. The video is 1:23 minutes long but the actual process only takes 30 to 40 seconds at most.

Now, if your phone’s Bluetooth function remains on, every time you step aboard your FCA product, the two technologies will recognize each other, and you’ll not need to do anything.
