Hyundai Ioniq 7 SUV to be unveiled in June

The Hyundai Ioniq 7 is one of the South Korean brand's most eagerly awaited future vehicles.

The Hyundai Ioniq 7 is expected to be the South Korean brand’s future electric SUV.

It is due to be unveiled at the Busan Motor Show.

It would join the ranks of Hyundai’s other electric vehicles: the electric Kona, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.

It appears as though Hyundai will unveil the Ioniq 7 SUV at the Busan Motor Show on June 27.

Within Hyundai’s electric range, the Ioniq 7 would join the ranks of the electric Kona, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. From the spy shots circulating, we can see that the Ioniq 7 takes on some styling cues from the previous Seven prototype, namely the angular wheel arches and receding roofline. In fact, Hyundai was able to test the pulse of Quebecers by presenting the Seven prototype at the 2023 Montreal International Auto Show.

On the technical front, it’s still too early to say. However, we can expect it to be built on the E-GMP platform. It’s also safe to assume that it will share a number of components with the Kia EV9, a three-row mid-size electric SUV that’s already been launched in Canada. It would also not be surprising to find two- and four-wheel drive versions.

That said, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Indeed, Jennifer McCarthy, Hyundai’s National Public Relations Manager for Canada, stated that “Hyundai Motor does not comment on speculation regarding future products. Product information will be disclosed in due course.”

Korean media outlet The Korean Car Blog did mention that production of the Hyundai Ioniq 7 is due to start at the Hyundai Asan plant in South Korea as early as next July. It is likely that Hyundai’s future plant in Georgia, USA, will also be able to manufacture the Ioniq 7.

We will keep a close eye on developments concerning the Hyundai Ioniq 7.
