Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America has officially announced that the first vehicle to roll off its production line will be the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5. Production is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. Although the 2025 model has yet to be officially unveiled for the North American market, preparations and training at HMGMA are already underway. The plant will produce all trim lines of the IONIQ 5, except for the IONIQ 5 N, and will eventually become the exclusive facility for IONIQ 5 production in the U.S.

Oscar Kwon, president and CEO of HMGMA, highlighted the significance of this development, stating, “We are in the final phase of construction and are getting ready for the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 to roll off the line. It’s the ideal vehicle for us to start production with.”

The Metaplant will eventually expand its production to include vehicles from Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia. Future vehicle production announcements are anticipated as the facility continues to develop. The newly established $7.59B facility in Georgia is poised to drive Hyundai’s growth and contribute significantly to the local economy.
