Hyundai Santa Cruz Test Mule Spotted

The Hyundai Santa Cruz small pickup looks to have lots in common with the new Tucson

  • Official Santa Cruz details should be shared before long.

  • From the video, it’s clear that it’s a compact pickup, or what is also known as a ‘ute.

Spy shots and various videos are readily available on the web but this latest one finds the Hyundai Santa Cruz without camouflage however still covered in much cladding. What seems clear from the images in the video is that it’s got lots in common with the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson.

Hyundai has been teasing the Santa Cruz for years now and this video, posted on 80% Garage, shows a fairly small pickup that will compete against the upcoming Ford Maverick. In other words, it, and the Maverick, will finally replace the previous Ford Ranger which was affordable.

In the video, the grille is visible through the mesh and it does look like the one on the new Tucson. The same goes for the side-view mirror, and a few other touches including dark chrome accents. We can also see the wheels which are quite unique. The bed’s size, according to the video, is about four feet in length however the bed seems fairly deep. In all likelihood, it’s smaller than the Honda Ridgeline.

Hyundai’s mentioned that the production version of the Santa Cruz will be introduced sometime this year.
