The first conference took place on Wednesday, July 3 at the Hyundai Électrifié dealership in downtown Montreal. For the occasion, the Korean brand brought together a few dozen customers and students throughout the day in front of Patrick Lefebvre, Senior Product Planner at Hyundai Canada, Daniel Breton, CEO of Mobilité Électrique Canada and Patrick Nadeau, owner of a Hyundai Ioniq 5 who became an EV driver ambassador following his trip to Mexico in his electric car. All present were able to learn more about electromobility.

Divided into three parts, the presentation began with an overview of the history of the electric car. Next, Daniel Breton debunks five myths surrounding electric vehicles: pollution, winter use, charging stations, price and driving behavior. Finally, Patrick Nadeau recounts his 15,000-kilometre journey to Mexico in his 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5. He shares the issues, challenges and memories of this three-month journey. Before making the leap to a 100% vehicle, this entrepreneur from Chaudière-Appalaches drove a Ford F-150.

Between panelists’ presentations, participants were invited to ask questions, interact and comment.

In the showroom of this dealership dedicated solely to electric vehicles in the heart of the city’s downtown core, guests can see up close and climb aboard a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and an Ioniq 6. Test drives were also available.

In the coming months, Hyundai Canada plans to extend the initiative across Canada.
