The 2025 Hyundai Venue represents the six model year of the brand’s urban crossover that became its entry-level model. In addition to the North American market, the Venue is sold in regions such as South Korea, Australia and South Africa, while a slightly shorter variant is marketed in India.
The Venue shares borrowed its platform and mechanical components from the Hyundai Accent which it indirectly replaced in the automaker’s North American lineup.

What the 2025 Hyundai Venue Does Well
- Fuel economy is one of the Venue’s strong points, as the little crossover is more efficient than all of its rivals except for the Nissan Kicks. During our tests, we even managed to do better than the official combined rating.
- The Venue is affordable. In fact, it’s one of the lowest-priced new vehicles both in the United States and Canada, as the subcompact car category is being phased out. Standard features include automatic headlights, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a 60/40 split-folding rear seatback, a six-speaker stereo, cruise control, emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane keep assist, while the Canadian-spec Venue also includes heated front seats in every trim level.
- The Hyundai Venue’s infotainment system is easy to use, which includes an eight-inch touchscreen in all trim levels. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration is also standard.
What the 2025 Hyundai Venue Doesn’t Do Well
- The 1.6L engine is fine for urban commuting and relaxed highway stints, but with only 121 horsepower on board and a thin torque band, we can’t expect high performance from this crossover. Truthfully, its competitors aren’t much more powerful.
- The Venue is noisy. Road and suspension noise are present and accounted for.
- Cargo space is less generous than in rivals such as the Chevrolet Trax, the Buick Envista and the Kia Soul. At least the cargo cover can be cleverly stowed vertically behind the rear seatbacks when we need to load tall objects.
- While interior dimensions are average for the segment, shoulder and hip room are down compared to those of the competition. The angle of the rear seatbacks isn’t adjustable.
