Hyundai’s Electrified Lineup to Grow to 13 In the Next Three Years

Hyundai will expand its eco-friendly product line from five to 13 by 2022 announced the US-branch of the Korean manufacturer.

This month, at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai will unveil the refreshed 2020 Ioniq. The rejuvenated model will be offered in three variants, electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid.

The Ioniq reveal furthers highlights the commitment of the Korean manufacturer when it comes to alternatively fueled vehicles.

Indeed, Hyundai is set to expand its eco-friendly products lineup from five to 13 in the next three years. Those 13 alternatively fueled vehicles will be introduced by 2022.

“As the automotive industry evolves to meet the needs of a diverse customer base and environmentally-aware society, we will continue to provide alternative-propulsion options in a variety of product choices,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “For consumers seeking forward-thinking and eco-friendly personal transportation options, Hyundai’s product line-up meets these criteria and more.”

By 2022, Hyundai confirmed they will introduce, in the United States, six alternatively fueled sedans and seven SUVs.

In the image above, shared by the carmaker, we can see the Hyundai Kona electric, the NEXO Fuel Cell and of course the three versions of the Ioniq, five eco-friendly vehicles currently in the lineup.

Next year will see the arrival of the all-new Hyundai Sonata HEV sedan, which will mark the fourth new model in this plan. The three other models are the trio of Ioniqs that will be unveiled in Los Angeles on November 20^th.
