The INEOS Grenadier SUV has been available in Canada for just over two years, but Quebec consumers have had no direct access to it. That changes this summer, as consumers can now purchase the British-born off-road 4×4 through the HGrégoire group, which has secured exclusive provincial distribution rights for the brand. The group will open a new dealership in Laval this summer dedicated to both the Grenadier and the Quartermaster, the truck variant of the model. The first units are already on site.
The INEOS Grenadier goes on sale June 1, 2026, in Laval.
HGrégoire is the sole authorized INEOS distributor in Quebec.
The INEOS Grenadier is a model inspired by the original Land Rover Defender.
Who Is INEOS Automotive?
INEOS Automotive was founded in 2017 with a simple yet ambitious goal: to fill the void left by the gradual disappearance of true utility 4x4s, such as the Land Rover Defender. Behind the project is Jim Ratcliffe, chairman of petrochemical giant INEOS, a multinational that posted $55 billion in revenue in 2025 and operates in 27 countries. The Grenadier, launched in 2022, was engineered from the ground up, free from the usual industry compromises.
The name INEOS is no accident. When Jim Ratcliffe acquired the petrochemical company Inspec Ethylene Oxide and Specialties in 1998, he needed a new name for it. Exploring Latin and Greek vocabulary, he played with the letters of the company’s words to realize that “ineo” evokes a beginning, “eos” refers to the goddess of dawn, and “neos” means young and new. The initials of the former corporate name already spelled the perfect acronym: INEOS: “the dawn of something new.”

A No-Compromise 4×4
On the technical side, the Grenadier means business. It features a ladder-frame chassis, permanent four-wheel drive, generous ground clearance, and the technology and safety standards expected of a modern vehicle.
Quebec is a key market for the brand, and it’s easy to see why. Winters are harsh, off-road trails are plentiful, outdoor enthusiasts are numerous, and the culture of adventure runs deep. The company considers the Quebec environment a natural fit for the Grenadier’s profile.
“Quebec is a natural market for the INEOS Grenadier,” says John Hairabedian, president of HGrégoire.
Where and When?
