Infiniti Qs Inspiration: the first details are out

It’s been a while since Infiniti promised to switch to EVs, but at the time of writing these lines, the luxury division still has nothing to offer in its lineup. This might change with INFINITI Qs Inspiration.

Engineers are working hard behind the scenes as electric prototypes have been multiplying at high speeds for a few months at the Japanese brand. With the Q Inspiration, QX Inspiration and the Prototypes 9 and 10, Infiniti is clearly aiming at electric powertrains for its future vehicles.

The 2019 Shanghai Auto Show will open next week and will be the scene of another zero-emission unveiling for the brand. Indeed, the manufacturer will show this other concept called Qs Inspiration which takes the form of an elevated sedan. Infiniti does not say much about this new design study but assures that the sedan is performance-oriented while respecting the environment.

Engineers also sought to make the car more “utilitarian” thanks to an elevated driving position and e-AWD. Powertrain components would be installed very low in the car to ensure a center of gravity flush with the ground.

For now, Infiniti sticks to these two official shots, but we can already see a resemblance to the latest prototypes of the brand, the QX Inspiration and Q Inspiration sedan, in particular, two concepts that show what to expect from this luxury division affiliated to the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.

Is this Infiniti Qs Inspiration a taste of the upcoming Q50? We’ll see in a few years.
