After years of teasing, Bronco pre-orders are going big
Already doubled special First Edition production over demand
After just two weeks of pre-orders, some leaked info says that Ford has already managed more than a quarter of a million reservations for the 2021 Ford Bronco SUV, a number that’s frankly, shocking.
That’s 230,000 reservations for the new Ford Bronco, and that impressive figure doesn’t include the smaller Bronco Sport. That more accessible crossover might not have as many reservations, but we’d guess the figure isn’t exactly small either.
The info comes from the Bronco obsessives at Bronco6G.com, who say that they have a reliable source of intel. Since they’ve had plenty of accurate Bronco leaks before the official reveal, we’re inclined to believe the number.
The figure doesn’t quite meet the Tesla Model 3’s 325,000 reservations in a week, but this is still a significant volume of customers.
If Ford were able to produce all of those in the first year of production, that would probably put it in the top 15 for US sales, and beat out Ford’s own Escape to make it the brand’s second-best seller. Which sounds like a clear hit, though the challenge will be to keep that demand going into year two, three, and so on.
So if you were hoping to get your new Bronco right away, you might be in for a wait. Unless you’re already on the list or have some pull with your local dealer
