According to a recent report from Car Scoops, BMW is gearing up to enhance its electric vehicle lineup with the addition of several new models in the coming years. An insider has shared details about the forthcoming vehicles and their various configurations. BMW plans to debut an electric version of its 3-Series, known as the i3 sedan, as well as expanding the iX series with the iX3, iX4, and iX5 SUVs.

The insider, whose information was posted on the Bimmerpost forum, indicates that the next-generation i3 and iX3 will come in multiple trims including 40, 40 xDrive, 50, 50 xDrive, and M60 xDrive options. The iX4, closely related to the iX3, will be released exclusively with all-wheel drive in the 40 xDrive, 50 xDrive, and M60 xDrive versions. The larger BMW iX5 is anticipated to be available in 50 xDrive and the more powerful M70 xDrive trims.
Production timelines have also been shared, with the iX3 expected to start rolling out in July 2025 and continuing until October 2033. However, its availability outside of Europe might be postponed until spring 2026. This model is set to introduce several innovative features that will be standardized across BMW’s range, including the new BMW Panoramic Vision interface and massaging seats with multiple functions. In addition, BMW’s Augmented Reality glasses are slated for release in 2027, promising an advanced interactive experience.
Furthermore, the production lifecycle of other BMW models has been outlined. The BMW X6 will cease production by the end of 2027, earlier than initially planned. The next-gen M5, featuring a plug-in hybrid system, will continue production until February 2031. The current BMW 7-Series is expected to receive a facelift in mid-2026, and the armored version of the i7 xDrive60 Protection variant will be available from July 2025. These revelations paint a clear picture of BMW’s strategic direction towards electrification and innovation in the automotive industry.
