Visually and aurally loud, Lamborghinis take the cake.
We love that this “research” reflects brand image.
However, we find that there’s a shocking lack of Koenigseggs in the top 20.
Every knows about Instagram as, for us car fanatics, it serves as a great medium to share our common love for everything fast and expensive. Compare the market has taken the time to tabulate the hashtags and come up with the top 30 most tagged cars in the popular sharing platform. The Top 10 is truly telling as three of the Top 10 are Lamborghinis (in the Top 5 in fact!), there are two Ferraris and two Bugattis.
According to comparethemarket, here are the world’s most favourite supercars based on the number of (Instagram hashtags):

If you bother to check to the full list, you’ll note that the Lamborghini Murciélago comes in at #12 and the crazy Veneno at #17. This means that one-quarter of the Top 20 belongs to arguably the loudest and most obnoxious supercar maker – don’t get us wrong, we’d have a Performante in a heartbeat.
At the opposite end of “visibility” spectrum are Pagani and Koenigsegg. The Huayra comes in at #15 while the first ‘segg, the Agera, arrives in 23rd place. If we allow ourselves to add a few comments, we’d like to point out that the McLaren Senna is absent from the Top 30. At Motor Illustrated, we were just discussing how it fails to spark our imagination as the P1 (#6) did so many years ago. As well, the #7 Honda (Acura) NSX is, in our opinion, rated at this level for the original car and not the current far more disappointing car despite the image used in the source. And lastly, we are quite happy with the Audi R8’s #2 ranking – it remains one of our favorite cars of all time, especially the early ones.
