The BMW iX3 is an X3-based fully-electric SUV.
It will not be coming to North America.
It is equipped with a 74-kWh battery good for a WLTP-rated 440km of range.
Instagram is certainly on a roll today. Just this morning, we shared images of the upcoming BMW 2 Series, and now, the new fully-electric BMW iX3 SUV. Maybe BMW’s getting sloppy or, more likely, BMW’s using IG, but whatever the case may be, these images of the iX3 certainly look convincing enough to be those of the production model.
The BMW iX3 will be BMW’s first fully electric SUV but, unlike many rivals, the iX3 is based on the X3’s structure and not a bespoke platform for EVs. Supporting this fact are the images captured by scott26.unofficial which depict an iX3 that looks nearly identical in every way to the BMW X3 we know.
The sole differences are limited to the blue trims pieces strewn about on the body, the wheels, and the addition of the “I” logo. The bumpers look more aero but otherwise, it’s nearly identical to the X3 built in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Incidentally, the BMW iX3 will be manufactured in Shenyang, China by the joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive.
