Toyota has just shared this simple image via a press release with little more to go than the title which reads: A New Dawn is Coming. It’s up to us to figure it out we guess…
Toyota’s Prius GRMN: A Production Performance-Oriented Variant on the Horizon?
Based solely on the LED daytime running lights, our answer to Toyota’s question “Can you guess what’s on the horizon?” has something to do with the new Prius. Said latest 5th generation of THE hybrid vehicle has quickly turned into something of a phenomenon, for Prius that is. Over this past summer, many images of mildly- to-wildly modified Prii found their way onto the web and all of them got us weirdly excited about what could be. More than likely though, it’ll be the new 2025 Camry…
One hint that was dropped earlier this month were multiple reports of the possible coming of a Prius GRMN, or likely a GR Prius in North America. The Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition boasted heavy aero bits, wheels, tires, and serious dose of attitude that would normally have not worked on Toyota’s ultra-famous hybrid, but it does on the new one.
No specs were revealed with the unveiling of the 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition and there’s even less available to chew on with this teaser. But, we’d like to speculate that Toyota will introduce, if not a GR, a Hybrid Max alternative with a 340hp turbocharged 2.4L powertrain, such as the one found in the superb Crown Platinum.
No word on when we’ll find out more from Toyota, but we certainly look forward to it.
