There are no concrete signs that this is the PHEV version however it will return.
Mitsubishi’s in hot water. They’ve hinted that scaling back their presence in North America might be necessary however the show’s not yet over. These pictures look to be of the new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander.
timewastersdigest shared these images on Instagram recently and it’s the front section of the Mitsubishi Outlander that is the most telling of what we can expect it will look like. The latest Eclipse Cross’ dynamic shield is visible as are the fog lights and marker lights. The headlights, or what seems to be the headlights, can also be made out between the hood and shield. Squinting mildly reveals a front end that is heavily inspired by the Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
At a dinner group meeting last fall, Mitsubishi shared with a handful of journalists about the company’s future services and more importantly, products. Talk of the new Outlander was predominant and composed of promises that it will best the current vehicle. Said 2020 Outlander PHEV is the best-selling PHEV SUV in the world. Going forward, the Outlander will not only face ongoing competition from numerous midsize SUVs but an increasing number of fully-electric SUVs.
The new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander should arrive in North America in no more than a year from now.
