J.D. Power APEAL Study 2023: Jaguar and Dodge Triumph as Top-Ranked Vehicle Models

The 2023 J.D. Power APEAL Study reveals Jaguar and Dodge as the leading brands in premium and mass market segments, respectively, with model-level performances recognized across various categories.

 

  • Jaguar and Dodge secure top ranks in the premium and mass market segments, respectively, in the 2023 J.D. Power APEAL Study.

The highly anticipated 2023 J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study has identified the top-performing vehicle models, showcasing Jaguar and Dodge as the standout brands in their respective segments. With an overall satisfaction score of 887, Jaguar secures the highest rank among premium brands, while Dodge reigns supreme in the mass market segment with an impressive score of 887.

Diving into specific categories, the APEAL Study highlights the models that outperformed others in terms of owner satisfaction and emotional attachment:

Premium Brands Category:

  1. Jaguar: The luxury brand has shown exceptional prowess in terms of emotional appeal and performance execution. Its impressive model lineup, including the F-Pace, I-Pace, E-Pace, F-Type and XF secured multiple APEAL awards. This achievement firmly establishes Jaguar as a dominant force in the premium segment, with its models delivering high levels of comfort, exhilaration, and driving experience.

  1. Land Rover and Porsche: Tying at 883 points, both brands are worthy contenders in the premium category. Land Rover’s Range Rover stood out as a model-level APEAL award recipient, showcasing Land Rover’s dedication to providing a remarkable driving experience and sophistication. Porsche’s 911 and Taycan also received model-level APEAL awards, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for crafting high-performance sports cars that captivate enthusiasts worldwide.

  1. BMW: With an overall score of 878, BMW continues to impress with its distinguished models. The BMW 7 Series, X4, iX, MINI Cooper, and MINI Countryman all secured model-level APEAL awards, reflecting BMW’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge design and exhilarating driving dynamics.

Mass Market Brands Category:

  1. Dodge: For a remarkable fourth consecutive year, Dodge tops the mass market segment with a score of 887. The Dodge Challenger earned a well-deserved model-level APEAL award, reaffirming Dodge’s dedication to providing thrilling performance, bold designs, and a distinct driving experience.

  1. Ram and GMC: Following closely behind Dodge, Ram claims the second spot with a score of 873, while GMC secures third place with a score of 858. Both brands demonstrated their ability to connect with drivers on an emotional level and deliver vehicles that excel in execution and performance.

Battery electric vehicles continue to gain momentum, outperforming their internal combustion engine counterparts in fuel economy satisfaction for the second consecutive year. Among BEVs, excluding Tesla, satisfaction scores improved by 2 points year-over-year, reaching an impressive 840, narrowing the satisfaction gap with gas-powered vehicles to a mere 3 points.
