Jaguar will become a fully electric brand starting in 2025
Jaguar has unveiled the F-Type 75, a special edition of the 2024 F-Type sports car that commemorates both the 75th anniversary of the brand’s sports cars (in 2023) and the last model year of the F-Type (2024).
This is important because the F-Type will be the last gasoline-powered Jaguar sports car ever since the brand wants to become fully electric as soon as 2025.
Available on both the coupe and the convertible F-Type, this special edition features a distinctive matte green paint job (called Giola Green Metallic), new 20-inch wheels and small “75” badges on the front fenders.
The F-Type 75 replaces the regular V8-powered model in the lineup, while the F-Type R 75 replaces the more powerful R model.
These new versions are powered by the same mechanical elements as their predecessors, which means that a 5.0L supercharged V8 engine takes place under their hood. In the regular model, its output is 444 horsepower while in the R, it is bumped up to 575 horsepower.
This is sufficient for the regular F-Type 75 to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 177 mph (285 km/h). With its increased power, the F-Type R accelerates to 60 mph (96 km/h) in only 3.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
The rear-biased all-wheel-drive system is available on the F-Type 75, while it is standard on the F-Type R 75. Both models feature an active exhaust system and the brand’s adaptive dynamic damping system.
Both of these features allow the driver to customize the driving experience by making the ride firmer to improve handling or softer to improve comfort, while bypasses in the exhaust allow more or less noise to enter the cabin during start-up and accelerations.
Despite being part of the 2024 model year, the first units of the F-Type 75 will be delivered in January 2023. Jaguar has yet to announce the prices for this special edition in North America.
