UK-only special blue paint job brightens F-Type
Revealed to go along with Blue Monday
To help alleviate those winter blues, Jaguar has just given British buyers the option of a striking new special edition F-Type Reims Edition that should make even the most dreary days look a little bit brighter.
The colour, for the car that is Jag’s second Reims edition, is French Racing Blue. It’s a shade exclusive to the Jaguar F-Type Reims Edition and that means it will be limited, like that model, to just 150 units.
It’s the second time that Jaguar has released a Reims edition, the first a similarly-shaded version of the XE sedan that was launched this same time last year and this could be a sign that Jag is planning on making the Blue Monday special an annual affair.
The name comes from the French city where Jaguar’s sports car competition history started. When the D-Type took its first victory at the 1954 running of the 12 Hours of Reims.
On top of the blue paint, the F-Type is fitted with standard gloss black side vents, script, and Jag leaper as well as the grille. Inside is black on black with black trim, and standard kit includes a fixed panoramic roof, heated seats, and climate pack.
Though it’s a special edition, Jaguar says it represents a bit of a value with a savings of up to £4,160 (CAD 7,200). Just the thing to bring shoppers out of the doldrums of winter. The car can be had as 2.0L turbo-four P300 with 296 hp or the supercharged 5.0L V8, 444 hp P450 model with orders open now and deliveries of this blue streak to start in March.
