Jeep revives the Laredo nameplate for the 2027 Wrangler.

Jeep has announced the return of the Laredo nameplate on the 2027 Wrangler, bringing back one of the brand’s best-known trim names as the ninth release in its Twelve-4-Twelve special-edition series. The model combines heritage-inspired design with the off-road capability of the Wrangler Willys platform.

The new Laredo is inspired by the original Laredo models introduced during the final years of the CJ lineup before continuing on the first-generation Wrangler in the late 1980s. The latest version draws themes associated with the American Southwest through its colour palette, graphics and trim details.
Unlike many concept vehicles, the production Wrangler Laredo remains largely unchanged from the version first displayed at the 2026 Easter Jeep Safari. Many of the design elements that generated interest among enthusiasts included the return of the tan soft top, a feature not offered for several years.
The exterior receives a distinctive appearance package featuring a Gobi-coloured grille, heritage-inspired hood and bodyside graphics, bronze tow hooks, bronze-accented Jeep and Trail Rated badging, and beadlock-capable bronze wheels. Every Wrangler Laredo includes the Xtreme 35 Tire Group with 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires and a 2.5-cm (1-inch) suspension lift. An available trailer hitch provides a maximum towing capacity of 1,587 kg (3,500 lb).

Inside, the Laredo gets a dedicated finish primarily in Bison Brown. Nappa leather seats are standard and include heating and power adjustment for the front occupants. Mayan Gold contrast stitching, Global Black trim on major touchpoints and exclusive Laredo identification throughout the cabin.
Additional details include a rear swing-gate plaque displaying the coordinates of Laredo, Texas, along with a custom centre console badge and subtle cowboy hat graphics integrated into the climate-control panel.
The Wrangler Laredo will be offered in both two-door and four-door body styles. Buyers can choose the returning tan soft top. Four-door model buyers can also opt for the Sky One-Touch roof. A black hardtop will be available on both body styles.

Canadian order books for the 2027 Wrangler Laredo will open later this summer. Pricing and additional market-specific details will be released closer to launch.
