Jeep Gives Glimpse of Grand Wagoneer Inside and Out

A glimpse of the badge and inside of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer's return

  • Jeep bringing back one of the first luxury off-roaders

It’s definitely official now, the next Jeep is EER! Make that Wagoneer, and we expect this one to be pretty Grand.

Just last week we found out for sure that there would be a Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer coming to production sometime early next year, and now Jeep has started teasing us about the new ride. The first was earlier this week, with a photo of the Grand Canyon and a definition of the word Grand. This time it’s a little more special.

The letters E E and R fastened to what looks like a piece of sheet metal belonging to the new three-row luxury crossover. What makes us think this one is the Grand one, not the standard model? That gold trim around the chrome lettering. That’s not something you do on some lowly regular Wagoneer, and while most of the previous model’s badges used a black background, the automaker did put a gold Final Edition badge on the dashboard of the last production models made in 1991.

Beside the name badges is a chrome and gold American flag, because truck patriotism is big right now. Look at Ford’s star-spangled banner on the new F-150s vents for another example.

The second photo shows the beginnings of what could be a very luxurious interior. The light-coloured wood trim strip that seems to be matched with a darker open-pore wood, as well as even stitching on the leather surrounding the engine start button. Yes, said leather looks a little false-grained when zoomed in like this, but we’ll have to see it in person.

There’s a lot riding on the Wagoneers for Jeep, this is a big dollar segment with lots of competition from Ford and General Motors. With these teasers coming, we’re expecting to see the whole thing in the next few weeks.
