The brand will double its European lineup with three new models around 2030.
The Willys-inspired model will be smaller than the current Avenger.
Jeep continues to bet on multi-energy platforms for Europe, which means the Willys-inspired model will be electrified.
During the Paris Auto Show, the head of Europe for Jeep told Automotive News that the brand is planning three new models around 2030, including a small off-roader inspired by the original WW2 Willys.
Since the Wrangler is the direct descendant of the original Willys, we expect this future model to be similar in appearance, but much smaller in size.
Indeed, this is because the automaker says this model will be designed with increasingly crowded cities in mind, which means a small footprint will be an important part of its formula.

In fact, we expect this model to be smaller than the current Avenger crossover, which would take Jeep into a new market it has never occupied.
Few details are known about this upcoming Willys-inspired model, except that it will use a multi-energy platform like the other Jeep models sold in Europe. This means that buyers should be able to choose from multiple powertrains ranging from mild-hybrid to fully electric.
The company published a teaser that shows the concept’s shadow placed behind a 1941 Willys Jeep. In it, we can see that the future model will be very boxy and will feature a flat roof, having a close resemblance to the 2-door Wrangler.
Of course, a 4wd version will be offered, as this model will also be intended for weekend getaways, not just urban commuting. Sales for this model are expected to begin after 2030.

Just before the launch of this Willys-inspired electrified model, Jeep will add a successor to the Renegade to its European lineup by 2030.
While it had been discontinued in North America after the 2023 model year, this subcompact crossover remained on the European market until last October.
During its 11-year production run, this small SUV made in Italy sold over 610,000 units in Europe, which makes it an important product for Jeep.
In fact, the Renegade’s discontinuation accounted for Jeep’s declining sales in Europe through August, despite significant interest in the new Compass, which arrived on the market last year.

In addition, the Avenger is also proving popular, having accounted for about 300,000 sales in Europe since its launch in late 2022.
Along with the upcoming Willys-inspired model and the next Renegade, Jeep aims to significantly increase its European presence with the addition of the Recon electric off-roader next year and a further mid-size model expected for 2028.
Once completed, this lineup should ensure Jeep will cover 90% of Europe’s SUV markets at the start of the next decade, with models in each size class from sub-compact to midsize.
There are no words yet on whether we will see any of these upcoming products in North America.
