- This would make Jeep the greenest SUV brand in the world, ahead of all others.
- And by entire range, this includes the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee.
One of our favorite personalities in the automotive industry, Jeep Global Boss, Christian Meunier, spoke about Jeep’s plans at a Jeep drive event in New Zealand. In his own words, Jeep would become “the greenest SUV brand in the world.”
Whichcar has reported that FCA disclosed Jeep’s plans only a few days ago. We’d reported a while back that FCA was investing heavily in retooling their Warren Truck Assembly plant to produce the new next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee and electrified versions of the latter. Last spring, we also covered the introduction of the PHEV iterations of the Jeep Compass and Wrangler E-volution.
The news then is not entirely surprising but what might be is that Meunier has said that these new electrified Jeeps will be “the best Jeeps ever.” In other words, the fastest, most efficient and capable of all time.
As a brand, Jeep is on fire. As part of the current pre-completed merger FCA portfolio, it has proven to be very successful and lucrative. If these electrification plans are executed in a timely fashion, in roughly two years, Jeep stocks will undoubtedly continue to rise.
