Gladiator Gecks out with new paint colour option
Factory Gorilla Glass option cheaper than a windshield deductible
Jeep has just announced that it is making its ultra-bright Gecko colour more wildly available on its lineup. It’s also priced the Gorilla Glass windshield upgrade for those looking to snag the stronger glass as a factory option and not an aftersale replacement.
Jeep (and the rest of the North American Stellantis lineup) is known for producing some absolutely wonderful and absurd paint colours for its vehicles. The latest of those is the extremely bold Gecko green, which joined Chief Blue and Nacho on the Jeep Wrangler for 2021. Jeep is now making Gecko available on the Jeep Gladiator as well, at least until October of this year. The price for that hue is $295 on either vehicle.
A Corning Gorilla Glass replacement windshield from Jeep Performance Parts was announced earlier this month, available for current and previous-gen Wrangler owners and current Gladiator owners who wanted the stronger glass that’s more commonly found in cell phone screens. Now, Jeep has announced it as a factory option, making it much more economical.
Gorilla Glass uses an ultra-thin inner ply and a 52 percent thicker outer ply, as well as using the stronger proprietary glass itself. This, Jeep says, makes it three times more resistant to chips, cracks, and fractures, on-road or off. The windshield will come with an MSRP of $150 and will be available on Sport S, Sahara, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave models.
