2026 Jeep Cherokee debuts late 2025 with hybrid propulsion and updated design cues.
Teaser highlights Cherokee’s evolution from 1974 to the upcoming model.
Jeep has released a multi-platform teaser campaign previewing the upcoming 2026 Jeep Cherokee, which will feature a new hybrid powertrain and is scheduled to arrive in late 2025.

The teasers, published via Instagram and YouTube, showcase a visual timeline of past Cherokee models dating back to 1974 before revealing the next-generation SUV. A front view of the blue 2026 Cherokee highlights its illuminated headlights and updated grille design, set against a mountainous landscape. Jeep notes that the model shown is a preproduction vehicle, but that’s to be expected. Additionally, we expect the final model to show very few, if any, changes.

Reimagined from the ground up, the 2026 Cherokee will offer a new hybrid powertrain as part of the brand’s electrification plans which began with the popular 4xe PHEV technology.
“The all-new Jeep Cherokee headlines our efforts to deliver more product, innovation, choice and standard content to customers than ever before,” said Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf in an official statement. The company also noted that the model will offer competitive pricing.

The teaser campaign draws heavily on the Cherokee’s heritage, presenting imagery of models from 1974, 1977, 1982, 1984, and 2023. Jeep uses phrases such as “A classic,” “Since 1974,” and “Legends aren’t born, they’re made” to underscore the SUV’s historic identity.
Visuals and messaging focus on themes of timeless design, American roots, and off-road capability. The campaign slogan, “A New Era Begins,” signals Jeep’s intent to balance historical legacy with modern upgrades in technology and efficiency. Despite all this, we’re still huge fans of the 80s ultra-iconic Cherokee.
The 2026 Jeep Cherokee will join the company’s expanding range of ICE, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric vehicles. Specific technical specifications, pricing, and feature sets have not yet been released.
