Jeep Unleashes Four Trail-Blazing Concepts at the 58th Easter Jeep Safari

Moab, Utah, becomes the stage for Jeep's latest crops of seductive concepts

Jeep is once again making headlines at the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, running from March 23-31, 2024. This year, Jeep, in collaboration with Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar, is showcasing four unique concept vehicles that push the boundaries of four-wheeling adventure.

As with past runnings of the Easter Jeep Safari, which began modestly in 1967, Jeep designers get to play with ideas, from body styles, to colours, and powertrains ahead of the event. The goal is always to create concept vehicles that demonstrate how far a little imagination, creativity, know-how, and limitless resources can take these legendary vehicles.

For the most part, the concepts built serve as rolling showcases for aftermarket parts and to titillate enthusiasts with various body-styles and modifications. While most concepts are figments of fruitful imaginations, such as the 2012 Mighty FC Concept and 2015 Jeep Chief Concept, most of the pickup concepts, such as the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Red Rock Responder, eventually paved the way for the production Gladiator. This year’s crop of concepts will likely not spawn any new models but they’re all cool, nonetheless.

Bill Peffer, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America, emphasizes the significance of the Easter Jeep Safari as an ideal platform for unveiling new Jeep concepts. This event, which attracts over 20,000 Jeep enthusiasts annually, celebrates the unparalleled legacy of the Jeep brand. The 2024 concept lineup demonstrates Jeep’s diverse appeal, from electrified models to those powered by the legendary 392 engines.

The Jeep Low Down Concept:

The Jeep Low Down Concept reimagines the iconic Wrangler Lower 40, introduced fifteen years ago. Retaining the original’s beloved low center of gravity, the Low Down gets its stance with 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud-terrain tires connected to Dana 60 axles for superior durability. Its Poison Apple Red exterior, carbon accents, and a bespoke interior, complete with a red-tinted bikini top, make the Low Down as visually striking as it is capable. Under the hood, a 6.4L 392 V8 engine ensures that performance power is never an issue.

The Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept:

The Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept is a tribute to the post-war civilian Jeeps, blending nostalgic design with contemporary plug-in hybrid electric off-road prowess. Outfitted with 36-inch Super Traxion tires and vintage-inspired 16-inch white alloy wheels, the Dispatcher’s Element 115 Green exterior and retro details evoke Jeep’s glorious past. Inside, distressed leather meets modern functionality, including a JPP onboard air compressor. The heart of this machine is a turbocharged 2.0L plug-in hybrid 4xe propulsion system for occasional ultra-quiet trekking.

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept:

With the Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept, Jeep and JPP showcase their instinctive abilities to elevating off-road performance. Its Ginger Snap exterior with retro graphics, 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, and Dana 60 axles highlight that nothing can stop it. The vehicle’s interior, adorned with custom Alea leather and JPP logos, marries luxury with functionality. An AccuAir adjustable air suspension and a suite of protective accessories ensure that the High Top is as resilient as it is eye-catching.

The Jeep Vacationeer Concept:

The Jeep Vacationeer Concept defines what’s possible when creating an adventure SUV, merging the spirit of exploration with unprecedented comfort. Its Spearminted exterior and bodyside narrow-style woodgrain graphics pay homage to the classic Jeep Wagoneer, while 35-inch mud-terrain tires promise formidable off-road capabilities. The integration of a RedTail Overland Skyloft and a climate-controlled rooftop sleeping area exemplifies the fusion of adventure and luxury. Powering the Vacationeer is the 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine.
