JLR Hands Over A New 2020 Land Rover Defender To The Red Cross For Testing

This year marks the 65th anniversary of Land Rover and the Red Cross’ partnership.

Land Rovers have made it possible for Red Cross workers and volunteers to reach some of the most remote communities in the world to help them. The Land Rover’s legendary off-road capabilities are increasing and evolving with the coming of the new 2020 Land Rover Defender.

What better group of people than the workers and volunteers of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies then, to take the new Defender on various roads to get a sense of what Land Rover’s newest vehicle is like.

The 2020 Discovery was driven through sand dunes in Dubai and on and off the Jebel Jais highway. From the images and video provided, we conclude that the Red Cross appreciate the new Land Rover and are likely looking forward to taking delivery of a new fleet.

The Red Cross is not the only body excited about the new Land Rover Defender. North America has been without the most rugged of LRs for nearly a quarter century and now that we know it’s coming back; we can’t wait to get our hands on one.

The new 2020 Land Rover Defender will most probably break cover at next month’s Frankfurt auto show. Given the importance or global reach of this truck, we’ll likely see all three expected versions: the 90, 110 and 130. The 90 will be a three-door and yes, we’re are humming the Beverly Hills 90210 theme song in our heads. Aren’t you?
