The GS will be the name of Karma’s family of sedans.
The cars will offer updated electrified powertrain options.
Pre-orders are available now.
The entire world has been rocked by the pandemic, and that includes Karma Automotive. The latter have had a rock’n’roll 2020 where only three months ago, the EV start-up was considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. There were even allegations that much of their progress and products were “fake”, but that seems to be behind them now as they’ve just announced the GSe-6 Series.
The press release is a short one that basically introduces this new GS Series name for its sedans and that the cars will essentially continue to look like the Revero we already know. The cars will feature new electrification options, updated technologies as well as Karma’s first-ever full EV.
“We are pleased to announce that Karma will now offer our first all-electric vehicle next year as part of the GS series,” said Dr. Lance Zhou, Karma’s CEO. “Cost reductions in the BOM, streamlining our supply chain and standardized production methods also allowed for a new, more attainable pricing structure for the GS lineup allowing for higher market penetration, opening up the market to a larger group of entry level luxury buyers.”
Those interested in making a pre-order reservation can do so on Karma Automotive’s website. Here, Karma shares that the electrified GSe-6 Series of cars will offer the following features:
Multiple Performance Modes
Multiple Electrification Powertrain options up to 100kWh
All aluminum composite construction
DC Fast Charging
Blended three-mode regenerative braking system
One pedal driving
The Karma GSe-6 Series will be assembled in CA, USA, and is expected sometime in 2021.
