Innovative Designs and Smart Technology Drive Karma Automotive's Future

  • Karma Automotive reveals the Ivara and Kaveya concepts, emphasizing luxury and innovative design elements.

  • The Kaveya super coupe boasts 1,000 horsepower and features a sound system by Master & Dynamic.

  • Karma partners with Intel to develop Software-Defined Vehicle Architecture, enhancing future model capabilities.

Karma Automotive, California’s ultra-luxury automaker, has revealed two new vehicle concepts and announced a partnership with Intel Automotive at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering in Carmel Valley, California.

The company introduced the Karma Ivara “GT-UV” Design Study, a new concept vehicle that establishes the Grand Touring Utility Vehicle segment. The Ivara features a steeply-raked windshield, panoramic roof, and a protective matte undertray with self-healing paint. It is being developed as either a pure electric vehicle or an Energy-Range Extended Vehicle.

Karma also unveiled the Karma Kaveya, a super coupe with butterfly doors and carbon fibre bodywork. The Kaveya will offer up to 1,000 horsepower of electric power and is expected to be priced from $300,000 USD. Its interior includes extensive personalization options and a sound system by luxury audio brand Master & Dynamic.

The Kaveya will be the first production vehicle built on Software-Defined Vehicle Architecture (SDVA), co-developed with Intel Automotive. This collaboration aims to create a more efficient and flexible vehicle design by consolidating multiple electronic control units into a centralized computing system.

Marques McCammon, President of Karma Automotive, stated, “Karma Automotive can adapt its powertrains quickly and nimbly in response to the shifting demands of our clients and the marketplace, further ensuring our longevity and success.”

Karma plans to return to the market in the fourth quarter of 2024 with the 3rd Generation Karma Revero. This limited production run of 150 units will be priced from below $150,000 USD.

The company’s design language features a signature “Comet Line” that spans the width of the vehicles, accentuating their proportions and styling.

Karma Automotive and Intel Automotive will work together to benchmark, demonstrate, and validate critical concepts for the advancement of open standards for SDVA. This technology is expected to be shared openly to support the transformation of the broader automotive industry.
